You will be working with your English and History teachers to research and write about a topic thematically connected to Things Fall Apart.
The paper will be 5-7 pages in length
You willneed to use a minimum of 5 sources in your paper:
1 Book
1 Website
3 On-line Database Sources (NOT Websitesites
Your paper must follow MLA format--in text parenthetical citations and include a works cited page.
Due Dates:
Annotative Bibliography: April 19 (History Teacher)
Outline: April 27/28 (English Teacher)
Rough Draft: May 3 (English Teacher)
Final Draft: May 10 (English Teacher)

Timeline
Week of April 5
· History teachers join English teachers in their labs and brainstorm to create a broad list of possible topics
Week of April 12
· On Monday, April 12, English teachers will give the formal paper assignment—this will include page length, number of sources, etc.
· Annotated Bibliography assigned by History Teachers—5 sources critiqued, but these may not be final five sources. This bibliography should include at least one source from each category: book, on-line database, website.
· History classes go to the library
· History/English teachers work with students to find/narrow topics
Week of April 19
· Annotated Bibliographies due to History Teachers Monday, April 19th
Week of April 26
· One page outline due to English Teacher due Tuesday, April 27th or 28th.
· English teachers will review MLA in text citations and formatting
Week of May 3
· Rough Draft due to English teachers Monday, May 3
· Peer Editing/Teacher conferences in English classes for writing, style, format, etc.
· History review of content and argument
Week of May 10
· Final papers due on Monday, May 10th
· Metacogs in English classes
